Coherence/Cohesion
Theatre plays a big roll in my life. I have been participating in the arts since I was in kindergarden, so the topic I chose is relative to my life. The theatre culture in Nashville seems sometimes lost in the hussle and bussle of the city life, especially when you mix music venues and downtown Nashville to the picture. I take this personally because this will one day be my career, and having the arts not play a big part in the culture of Nashville is disheartening. I can not wait to see if people working and acting in the theatres of Nashville feel the same way.

Interview with Theatre major
I interviewed Adrienne Hall, a theatre major at Belmont University. I asked her "do you know names of any theatres in Nashville outside of Belmont? " She said the "Tennessee Reporitory theatre, the Dark Horse, the Actors Bridge ensemble, and Studio Tenn." I then asked if she had done any other plays at the local Nashville theatre and she said she had not, said she had "colaborated with the Actor's Bridge Ensemble." Then I asked her what plays she had been in at Belmont. She, then, listed off many plays, such as Euridicy. The most interesting question that I was eagar for Adrienne to ask was " why do you think people in Nashville do not attend musicals or plays?" She responded that she didn't "think the people realize that no matter how much advertisment that you have the best way to get people to come to a show is by word of mouth." This is such an interesting response because it is so true. I find out about plays from friends telling me more so than looking at posters at Bongo Java or any other coffee shop.

Arifact
I picked a piece of sheet music for my cultural artifact. I feel as though the sheet music affects my project because I'm doing my on theatres in Nashville. We could not do musical theatre without the music. This is vital for the project it plays a big part in the musical process.

Maya Angoluh
I was able to go the talk back session with all the humanitary panel. I was so inspired by Maya. She has such wisdom in her words. Her sentence structure, when she speaks, is beautiful and allows me to think about the sentence as a whole, not just a little bit. I believe that the way she speaks can not be taught, it is God-given. She was talking about be the change, don' expect others to do so.

Culture around us...
I feel like people do not like to make eye contact while walking by one another. I am guilty of this act, but I do not understand why our culture does this. I believe that some are afraid of having the "awkward" contact with the other person of not knowing what to say or do. "Do I smile, say hello, will they say hello first, and etc." We are a culture afraid of rejection. If the other person does not say hello back when I say hello, then you think that they have rejected you.

What I learned from High School writing class that should not be carried over...
I feel as though in writing class, especially in High School, I was taught a "headache" full of knowledge and I was suppose to carry this knowledge thought out my life. There were also some specific "rules," you could say, that enabled my thought process to be smoother and hindered my creative juices that teachers tried to scare us of doing. There were two specific rules that were "no-no's" in high school world. One was going "off the top." I can see where this is not good, and this rule still appies to the real world, however, sometimes I feel like it is ok to tie in another subject, if applicable, to your paper. I feel like teachers in high school punished if you in the slightest sense went off topic, and didn't give you a chance. This brings me to another rule which was making the length of the paper such a big deal. I know that there are a lot of students to grade, however I believe that if a student can, with reasonable examples and substance, elaborate and lengthen the maximum page limit. All in all, we were taught well in high school in writing class, however I believe that there were certain "rules" that should not be carried over into the collage world.
